MY BABY

My Mum always used to refer to me as "My Baby!" I took exception to this and objected strongly. As a fully grown woman, a teacher with a class of my own, I wasn't a baby.

Tonight I put Baby Alice to bed for the last time. Tomorrow My Alice will get up, a (big) little girl, but she will ALWAYS be "My Baby!"

Now I understand. Love you Mum, wish you were here - I'd never object to you calling me that again. Love My Baby too.

OPINIONS NEEDED

My friend, 3CMum, is going to take a photo of Alice to Guangzhou, so that I can have a portrait 'done'.

Please comment - which of the photos would you send to be immortalised?

YEAR 3 - I NEED YOUR HELP! (AND ANYONE ELSE WHO'S GOT A USEFUL SUGGESTION!)

Alice loves songs.

I sing and we dance to:
  • The Wheels on the Bus,
  • If You're Happy and You Know It
  • Row, Row, Row Your Boat
  • Grand Old Duke of York
We're getting a bit bored of the same few songs. Can you think of any other ones that Alice might like?

Also - we can only remember a few verses of The Wheels on the Bus :
  • wheel / round,
  • wipers / swish,
  • driver / 'Move Along Please'
What do the children say, the grannies say, who else is on the bus? Which other verses could we sing?

INTRODUCING . . .

. . . ALICE!

I recognised her by her hair, incredible!

She quite large, very content. She's got a bit of a cold but other than that appears healthy. We've already had good eye contact, smiles and she thinks N's a hoot!!

I'm not sure that the 6-9 month clothes will fit!! The orphanage director said (not for translation) that they'd matched her to the right family, can't imagine what she meant!! She's also supposed to be a very contented baby - definitely 'chilled' out at the moment.
