LATEST PLAYTIME FAVOURITES

The stacking buckets are one of Alice's fav toys since we've returned from France. She loves to stack them and the moment the final bucket is in place you'd better watch out for the right hook that knocks them down!

She also loves to talk into them and listen to her distorted voice. They're also great for carrying things and for pouring things between different buckets.

She's also (finally) showing interest in puzzles - only the single piece type. Yesterday we were playing with animal puzzles (a lovely John Crane one that the pieces are really chunky, the animals are painted on both sides and in the holes), we (T and I) were trying to show her how to wiggle the piece into place, but everytime we said 'Wiggle!' she would wiggle!! Alice would wiggle herself, not the puzzle piece. Baby steps in puzzle development but a lovely memory!

MAKING FAMILY FOLKLORE!

T's final comment on leaving this afternoon, "I don't think she really 'got' the paddling pool but she did enjoy making waves!"

Shortly afterwards I had a phonecall from the gardener, he was on his way over - so I needed to move the paddling pool. It was too full to move, so I tipped it over my feet (to save the grass getting wet just before it was mowed!) Then I went to move the boat track, whilst my back was turned for no more than 20 seconds, this is what happened:

I think she totally 'gets' what a paddling pool is about - not sure she understands the dress code though!!

SOME TRUTH, I HOPE, THOUGH ALICE DOESN'T AGREE YET!

You Are an Excellent Cook

You're a top cook, but you weren't born that way. It's taken a lot of practice, a lot of experimenting, and a lot of learning.
It's likely that you have what it takes to be a top chef, should you have the desire...

MOBBED IN CHINA

Every now and then, when we're out and about, we get mobbed by 'the locals'. They chatter away and surround the pushchairs.

We eventually got around to asking the guide what they were saying - apparently they are keen to see what Western babies look like and then they say that they look just like Chinese babies! Chris (the guide) does then tell them that the babies are actually adopted Chinese babies!!

(I know that this is a photo of Japanese tourists but it shows the 'mob effect' - I am in there, with Alice, I'm wearing a red patterned top and white trainers!)

A GIGGLE ON GOOGLE!

I've been trying to find out more information on the Mutsy - I think that it comes in a 4 wheel, light weight version with a leather handle, but I can't find it online.

So . . .

. . . I did what most people would do and 'googled' it . . . and came up with THIS blog as the first result!! Funny but not that useful.
