MUMMY LOVES THIS OUTFIT!

This is one of a very few outfits that will be saved in a memory box - probably more for my sake than Alice's.

I bought it from JLP (one of my favourite shopping venues!) It's a pattern that I've bought for several special friends when they've had daughters. Originally I choose it just because I liked it, but I was really pleased to be able to buy this for 'Whatshername' when I realised she'd be small enough (it's a range that only goes up to 12 months).

Unfortunately nearly every time Alice has worn it, she's vomited by lunchtime - not the luckiest of outfits for us, but I still love it!

ANNIVERSARIES

3 months with Alice. WOW. A lifetime and the blink of an eye, both together. She's changing so quickly I'm really grateful that I was able to be with her from such a young age.

A year blogging. I looked back to the first posts from September 06 - you can find them here or in the archive. 1 year on and my life has transformed, as I knew it would, I just didn't know when it would change. Some things stay the same 'I had to shut the back door and turn the heating on' . It was very obvious when we got home that Autumn has arrived, I'm sitting here shivering, my fingers are clumsy as they're so cold, the back door is shut again and this year I never managed to turn the heating off (just turned the thermostat down).

CONFUSED BY SIZING

This outfit is 9-12 months, and there's not much room for wiggling!! I'm confused, some of the 6-9 month clothing, from the same store, is larger!

WHATSHERNAME'S WARDROBE - CLOTHES ON LOAN

Lovely E has lent me some of the clothes A wore last summer. It's very kind of her - this post is a thank you to her and also a reminder for me (so I remember to return them and exactly what to return) - I don't trust my memory any more!!

I can't wait for my little girl.

UPDATE ON CLOTHING

This was from J - I hope you don't mind but I swapped it for a larger side as I thought it could be worn into the autumn. I love it because it's denim and it's got a Daisy on it! (My labrador's called Daisy!)

SHOPPING SPREE!!

Clothes, clothes and more clothes! As well as monitors, thermometers, nail clippers, melamine 'crockery' (should be plasticery!), pink flat sheets, pink fitted sheets, bottle brushes, baby shampoo and nappy cream. Spent a fortune, still need quite a lot more.

The first outfit is a particularly special one - it's one of my favourites I bought this in a much smaller size for A. I'm hoping that Whatshername will wear this in the Autumn, but I'm keeping the tags on in case she's bigger than UK clothing sizes!!

2 pairs of summer short dungarees from Next. I've decided that I'm going to buy 9-12 months for the summer, as she'll be nearly 9 months when we meet.

Pink onesies for sleeping and socks from Hennes. I've been told never to buy 1 pair but always at least 2 - so that when the inevitable sock goes missing the other can still be used! (Any more handy hints anyone?)

3 tops from Baby Gap. The white bolero is to soothe the 'Clothing Police' in China (Granny aged Chinese women who don't approve of seeing exposed skin on babies!)

Gorgeous swimming costume from Monsoon - with room for a swim nappy underneath!

VERY BELATED THANKS, PART 2

To J - she bought lots of beautiful things, outfits for Whatshername and things for me too - extremely generous.

This dress is coming to China, it's beautiful, so soft, pink and patchwork - all my favourites!

I loved it the moment I saw it, then this weekend I discovered the frilly bits!!

(and there's more from J - when I've taken more photos!!)

VERY BELATED THANKS, PART 1

To C - she bought Whatshername some beautiful PJs in 12 months (so they'll be great for the autumn). Thank you, I can't wait for Whatshername to be tucked up in her bed wearing them! x

(And I can't wait to be buying something for the P and her little sis!)

CELEBRATION BY SHOPPING!

The irony of my referral is that I have bought plenty of clothes - none of them small enough!!

So Whatshername needed summer clothing in small sizes!

I bought a 3 pack of T-shirts - 1 white, 1 pink and 1 striped.

A twin pack of cropped jersey trousers - in light and bright pink.

Another pair of crops - this time pale pink cotton ones with white polka dots.

Also a pretty white sun top and a patchwork skirt, as well as a yellow set of top, shorts and matching sun hat.

As to sizes, I bought 6-9 months (except for patchwork skirt as they only had 9-12 months in that!) But I did check that it could all be returned if the size was wrong - besides I had fun and Whatshername seems more real after my shopping trip and it was worth it just for that.

WHATSHERNAME'S WARDROBE FAR BEYOND 24 MONTHS!!!

Why buy clothes in such large sizes? Because they didn't have them in smaller ones!!

The skirt is from Monsoon - I fell in love with it, it's fab, patchwork and blue, I HAD to have it!!

The pinafore and matching top came via an auction website.

More New York purchases - the pale blue dress is cotton and soooooo soft, it was a bargain, only $7 - but they only had the age 6 size! The darker dress was bought while remembering my Mum, the smocking is beautiful (Mum was a fabulous dressmaker).

WHATSHERNAME'S WARDROBE BEYOND 24 MONTHS!

Loads of clothes!!

These were all bought in one of my trips to New York in 2005.

More from New York!

And most of these were from the outlet centres around New York. A friend bought the 'ducky' raincoat.

The Daisy cotton jumper was a recent purchase, it's 24 months and cost £12 - the Age 2 jumper was almost identical, but cost £15!!
The yellow cardigan was the first item of clothing I bought for Whatshername, it was in the sale in Cyprus - but it still wasn't cheap! It's so soft.

Most of these are fairly recent, some bought last summer in France. Top right is another 'Daisy' top - for Whatshername not the dog (don't think they'd fit Daisy!)

More US purchases!

CLOTHES UPDATE

As you can see, Whatshername has quite a few already - and a definite theme developing. But there's more to follow (when I've got time) - age 2 and up!!

WHATSHERNAME'S WARDROBE 18-24 MONTHS!

Sleepsuits, a pink gillet (Sainsburys bargain) and underneath 2 outfits from France and a gorgeous Bikini from Boots!

3 Ebay pinafores - can you tell that I love blue, pink, denim and pinafores?

Lots of tops, lots of stripes!

WHATSHERNAME'S WARDROBE 12-18 MONTHS!

I bought these in France last summer, in a sale.

The red one is a set with matching gingham shorts - bought on sales in New York in 2005. The pack is 3 sleepsuits, bought on sale from Mothercare last year.

On the left is a Tommy Hilfiger (sp?) bodysuit bought in New York. I couldn't resist the pink Tee from Sainsburys - it says 'I [heart] Mummy'. On the right is a matching Osh Kosh set again bought in New York!

All of these are recent bargains!

CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC

Be prepared for many posts - to see the clothes I've already bought for Whatshername, unfortunately Jonathan hasn't got anything!

These are the little ones - smaller than 12 months.
These PJs were bought by A, 6-9 months - I haven't bought anything this small (just in case).

I couldn't resist this matching set from Mothercare, 9-12 months was the largest size.
