All around the lights are a glowing
I have her ornament on the tree
The Christmas season is upon us
But is there any joy left for me?
Yes another year is over
she still is not home
My heart is so heavy
I feel so alone.
BUT I have waited too long
And I am so close to my goal
I must hold on to the promise
that warms my worn soul
I must remember
I must not fear
I must never forget
The joy of Christmas lasts all year.
I cannot fuss
And I cannot fret
Because I know in my heart,
Santa Clause isn't done with me yet.
A child is waiting
With love and great care
In a few precious months
Oh the gift I will share.
Minute by minute
Day by day
My greatest Christmas present
will soon come my way.
My child will be home
My family complete
Who would ever have thought
that a waiting Christmas can be sweet.
So, I wish you Merry Christmas
let the bright lights shine
For deep in my heart
I know it is only a matter of time.
With presents to share
And a big hug for you all
We will again celebrate Christmas
when we each get the call.
