CBH
I started 2006 resolved to install garage doors and replace some of the windows. The garage doors were done by the end of January and they are great but the windows are still waiting to be done.
At Easter I found a house to buy in Usk and then spent several months trying to sell CBH in order to buy first one and then another (next door to the first) house on the outskirts of Usk - it didn't happen and now I'm glad that it didn't happen.
So I'm settled at CBH, it's different this time, now I've chosen to be here. The builders will start replacing windows in a couple of weeks, so hopefully by Easter 2007 all the windows will have hardwood frames and be double glazed. Its going to cost a small fortune but I hope to have a warmer home and maybe smaller gas bills.
Once the windows are replaced I will start changing Nick's dressing room into a nursery - maybe, I want it to be pink but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to commit until I see her face (and know for definite that IT is a SHE!)
FW (beach house)
2006 started well, I enjoyed Easter down there but had ALOT of hassle about having dogs - they're not allowed on site but are allowed in the garden. Also it's too far away and I don't get down there for the weekend as I had anticipated. Another BIG drawback is there is no phone, no mobile coverage around the site and no easy way to rectify either situation. So I put it on the market in the summer - it's had several viewings and several offers - but none at the right level. I'm going to give it a few more months (and hope for good Easter weather to start people looking for holiday homes) and then if it still hasn't sold then I will put it with a letting agent for the summer.
