They got up to the 27th September, that's nearly 3 weeks but not that many applications.
The 29th is a huge application day - so next time they will probably do that and maybe a few more days, with no LIDs at the beginning of October (China were on holiday for the Autumn Festival) they might make it to nearly the middle of October.
I don't think that there's much chance of my referral being in the next batch or the one after that. So when will the third batch arrive? Sometime before the end of April, I hope! Then there will be up to 8 weeks before travelling to China - I might be back at work for as much as a term and a half (with the usual note that China can still say 'No' and nothing's definite until we're home).
