With the new windows my bedroom has no curtains - they were directly attached to the window frame, unusual - yes, but then so's the window.I love my bedroom - the space, the view, the pattern, my bed - everything. That's quite an accomplishment - as it's also the room where my mother died.
The builders replaced the barn door (my window and the dining room window) this week, so I've had no curtains since Tuesday. It's strange, the room is very light during the day, but also during the night! The acoustics are different and my bedroom just doesn't feel quite right. The worst part of not having curtains is the early morning brightness and consequent early morning waking. This morning was worse than usual - Daisy spotted a cat just before 6am, ugh, but at least there's nothing wrong with her eyesight!! (The cat was half-way down the field and was no more than a black dot when viewed from the bed!)
