BUSY DAY, NOT SO MANY SMILES

Today we went to the Minority Village, as Yunnan has a large proportion of citizens from minority groups. The village is a representation of many of these minorities, with typical buildings, people dressed in traditional clothing and many 'shows' to showcase minority traditions. It was HUGE and very hot!

Lois was a little grumpy this morning, but her mood improved through the day and Alice took over the grumpiness.

The morning started a little later than the schedule suggests, she had a whole bottle and then at breakfast (2 hours later) she had congee (ricey soup), at the village she had bottle. For late lunch she tried apple and carrot puree (it was very sloppy) and then things went wrong, 30 minute cat-naps, refusing bottles, lots of crying (which stopped as soon as N appeared - I've told him that he may have to move in!!)

We went out to supper with our guide - to a 300 year old Chinese house, for a traditional Chinese meal. The food was OK, a lot of it was a little spicy for me and I asked for fruit juice and was given apple vinegar! We had some very interesting conversations over supper and learnt a lot about Chinese culture. Alice and Lois both fell asleep during the meal, Lois remained asleep while Alice turned out grumpy again, as we were late back I decided not to give her a full bath, she didn't have much of her last bottle and is currently moaning and thrashing in her cot while bashing a stacking cup against the side (it's just stopped, lets hope that means she's given in to sleep 25 minutes later than scheduled and over 90 minutes later than Monday or yesterday).

Pictures coming later - it takes too long to upload and we want to watch a DVD!! (More messages might mean more photos!)

More messages..well here we are! So more pics please!
Is she teething ...could be a cause for the grumpiness!
Relax..at this age this is normal!

She really is adorable. Enjoy this time in China as a year or two later it will seem too surreal to believe you were really there.
