Quiet day, lovely day. It rained this morning so we stayed in.
10am the important paperwork arrived - birth certificates, abandonment certificates, adoption certificates and a medical thingy - 3 copies of each, all needing to be checked for accuracy, we haven't found any mistakes, yet! We were supposed to go and get all this, but it was delivered to us by another guide because Chris was in hospital.
We went up to the panoramic (moving) lounge for lunch, the movement made me feel sick when I thought about it but I got used to it and the views were magnificent! (The menu was the same as the cafe next to reception, so M, N and I had our usual, club sandwich!)
After that we discovered the shops on the second floor and I bought some things for Alice's Adoption Day Anniversaries (and made the shopkeeper very happy!) N and Alice managed to sleep for parts of the afternoon, I didn't get the opportunity! N is still suffering from jet-lag I think, the rest of us got over it with all the adrenalin.
I heard from the guide, he was misdiagnosed and is 'all OK', he delivered the passports this evening.
More room-service for supper tonight, it's good food, but we're getting a bit bored of these 8 walls (2 rooms) after nightfall!!
Tomorrow we fly to Guangzhou, with Chris (phew!) We will be staying at the Victory Hotel on Shamian Island - my bags are plastered with orange ribbons and I will be watching for any Autumn Dreamers. Although there must be at least 12 families staying at the Harbour Plaza, none had an orange to see!! AUTUMN DREAMERS PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Kate,
I'm so thrilled to read how things are going with Alice (and with Mike & Caron and Lois). She is a real little cutie. It's very inspiring for those of us behind you in the queue to hear of a very positive adoption experience. Hope you enjoy Guangzhou - we loved it when we visited on holiday. Although you're in the Victory do try the White Swan for breakfast if only to see all the other babies.

Glad you have all the adoption papers now - another step closer to home with your baby. Well done K & N. A is gorgeous - we've seen lots of smiles - and you seem to be enjoying the bonding. We greatly look forward to meeting her and giving her a big cuddle. Have a good journey tomorrow. N Dad and G. x
Gosh, Alice is sooooo lovely, Kate! Just from the photos, you both seem perfect for each other! You'll be absolutely amazed at how significantly the "nurture" aspect of adoption takes over - and before you know it you'll be noticing how much she is a "little Kate"!
As for songs, I tend to sing Annaliesa lots of mainstream songs as well as the usual children's songs. We do so many toddler groups that I have my fill of those songs all day long. So at bedtime. before her naps, and upon waking, I sing songs such as "Over The Rainbow", "Sunshine On My Shoulders", "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning", and "Good Morning Starshine" (to name a few!) to her. I think she likes the "gliddy glub gloopy nibby nabby noopy" parts from the Starshine song the best! Oh, and she absolutely loves singing "My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean". We do that one a lot while shopping in Waitrose! A little humility never hurt anyone!
Glad to hear that Chris is fit and well again, and that you'll have him at your side for the next few days.
Keeping you all well in my heart, and thinking of you each and every day!
lots of love,
Ellen xxx
Kate you both look so so happy, we are following your journey avidly!!!!
lots of love
Shawn
Kate, I'm enjoying following your journey. Alice is lovely and she looks as though she's coming along really well. Love all the pics. Lois is lovely too. Getting really broody again, but a reluctant husband, and a really long wait once DTC is very off putting!Deosn't stop Gwion asking if we can go back to China and get a brother for him! Love Kirstin, Rhodri, Gwion and Ceinwen Jiannan.
