4 MONTHS TOGETHER

It seems like a life-time and just yesterday all at once.

Only when we were home did I realise just what a huge gamble I had taken and how incredibly lucky I was to win the jackpot - and every day with Alice makes this feeling more intense.

She's incredible. Happy, enquiring, so observant, adventurous, courageous, placid, friendly - wonderful.

She's changed so much - 6 new teeth, incredible improvement in muscle tone, she's learnt to crawl, she's learnt to babble, she's learnt to pull up and it won't be long before she's standing unsupported. She's still got her incredible spirit and a fabulous dirty laugh!

She's learning so much and so quickly - in the last week or so she's learnt to push buttons, repeatedly push buttons, experiment with the effects of different buttons, she catches on so quickly. Today she was shown a shape sorter, still her most favourite activity is to bash 2 objects together but she also tried hard to get the shapes OUT through the holes!

She's a quick learner and is beginning to challenge Mummy. She's testing the limits, seeing whether yesterday's limits still apply today, still apply with visitors or when she's visiting - she's not happy when she realises that 'NO' from earlier still stands. NO increasingly is pushed, tried again and frowned at - unfortunately none of that has any effect - Mummy's just as hard headed as Alice! It was noticeable for the first time today - she's checking the reaction of others while testing Mummy. Not only did I get the frown when telling her 'NO' but she then gave me a mouthful of babble in a very cross voice - had I been alone with her at the time I might have thought I was hearing things!
