MORE GALIVANTING!

You've probably realised from the number of posts in the last 24 hours that I'm home. What is impossible to spot is that I've been away, again!

Definitely galivanting again - lots of fun things crammed in to 2 days away. I left home on Tuesday morning. First stop was Cardiff, for lunch with the regional CACH group - met up with one family I already know and met a couple of new ones. We had lunch at a Chinese buffet restaurant, what a surprise!! Good lunch, good company and an emotional experience - I find things like this reinvigorating, it reminds me why I'm going through all of this and fills me with joy to meet the other families who are further on on their journeys. Can't wait for their Chrismas party!

Then I went on to Surrey, to stay with my uni buddy A, her husband J and their 15 month old son W. It was fab to catch up, gossip and get to know the gorgeous (and incredibly well behaved) W - there you go A, I really mean it - it's official and on the WEB!!! On Wednesday A, her mum M and I went up to Olympia for the Spirit of Christmas - a giant Christmas fair. We weren't sure what to expect this year after a variety of experiences over the last few years. But it was good, we all bought quite a bit - though A and I managed to buy more for ourselves and our children than presents - nevertheless we both have degrees in shopping (literally) and proved it! Can't say what pressies I bought as some of the recipients are also blog readers.

Yesterday (Thursday) we took a trip down Memory Lane - we went to Guildford . . . shopping!! It was freezing - didn't buy too much - gloves (I was really cold!) and some mini cutlery for whatshername.

I left A's just before lunchtime to drive into London. Thank God for sat nav. I'm so proud - I drove through London to Notting Hill. I was there for a radio interview. I was interviewed by a journalist and author EB (who has 2 daughters adopted from China) and her producer J. The ladies were really friendly and the interview just felt like a chat. I didn't think I'd get to meet EB's daughters - so that was an unexpected bonus, they were lovely - another inspiration!! As for the radio interview - the programme isn't due to air until early next Summer and they might use my bit - so I'll post more when I know more.

After all those adventures I drove home. I had a mostly wonderful welcome from my 'girls' - Fusspot was so pleased to see me she couldn't contain herself and peeed (or is it 'p'ed or peed?) on me!! It was still lovely to be home. I ended the day in domestic bliss - curled up on the sofa with my Cavaliers and then Daisy came to bed to keep my feet warm!

Home is good (but it's jolly cold round here - had to put the heating back on for the daytime!)
