Serious case of bed-head this morning!! But that's not what this post is about - clothes and Alice!I love this outfit of Alice's. I bought it in John Lewis, it's an outfit that I've bought in smaller sizes for friends' children - so when I saw it in 9-12 months I just had to have it for Alice!! She wore it when we were first home, the trousers needed turning up and it was a bit baggy. It WAS baggy, it isn't any more, the trousers no longer need turning up. There's no doubting it, my little girl is growing up, growing up fast, too fast.
Unfortunately, though dressed by 8am, she was in the second outfit for the day by 10am, we had our first nappy failure, ugh.

Wow! Its amazing that Alice has grown so much in such a short time! And get used to the nappy failures, it might be the first but definitely won't be the last!! Alice is going to hate you for showing the world her 'bad hair day' when she's older - but I still think she looks adorable :-)

Sigh! Yes ... the "growing up quickly" thing. I know just how you feel. It is bittersweet. I was working on A's lifebook tonight and waxing nostalgic as I sifted through the pages from last year. Unbelievable how much our babies change in a short time. I hope I always remember what those first "touches" felt like, and what those baby "scents" smelled like, and what her "voice" sounded like when she was first trying to make words form from her little mouth. Sigh! As parents we are always desperately working to slow down time, while at the same time our babies are racing through their lives. lots of love, Ellen xx
