Last Wednesday we went for a professional photo session. I took Alice's birthday dress (the red silky one with outlines of white butterflies on) and a Chinese outfit (after a brief wardrobe session first thing that morning, I determined that the best fit was a bright green pair of Chinese pyjamas). I went (alone) for the viewing session on Friday. Now I'm broke! The photos were fabulous and I've ordered a canvas shot of Alice lying on the floor in the green PJs (I've wanted a canvas of her ever since we came home) and a multiframe of 9 photos, a mix of head, head and torso and whole body photos in red and green (the photographer also asked permission to create a 2nd multiframe to display in the studio!) They should be ready before Christmas and I'm really excited about seeing the results.
On Saturday we went to Caerphilly - where there was a farmers' market and a medieval market in the castle. A great idea and a good morning, however it was EXTREMELY wet and that did spoil things a little. Alice saw Father Christmas for the first time at the castle - he gave her a huge Chocolate coin which she ate all of while she was watching a weapons demonstration in the Great Hall (while we all 'steamed' dry!)
Grandad and N came to stay Saturday night. It was good to see them and Alice charmed them and was very well behaved. After they left I had a mammoth cooking session - roast Turkey, supper for me and 10 meals for Alice. I can tell that she's growing - this would have done at least 20 meals when she first came home!
